A toybox of tools to enhance your online marketing-communications

Posted on August 27, 2009 by tracyplayle in Uncategorized

I’ve just finished my workshop at the CASE Europe annual conference. This was a somewhat indulgent session for me in which I just shared some cool tools (and some useful ones too) as a snapshot of the kind of applications out there that can help to enhance online-marketing communications. My presention can be viewed here.

I promised to put links to all the tools I mentioned (including a few extras not included in the presentation itself) on this blog, so here they are:

Whostalkin
Twitter Analyzer
Add This
Slideshare
Animoto
Screenr
Twitter Fountain
Wordle
Audioboo

Here’s the audioboo that we recorded in the session too:

Listen!

And here’s the platform I used to put the presentation together: Prezi.com

And finally, a few extra tools and useful sites that I mentioned:

Screen toaster
iStock photo
Stock Music
Twitter search

I’m really keen to hear feedback on how people might end up using these tools. Some fantastic ideas from the fabulous audience attending this session – really inspiring, so thank you if you attended!

But why of why can’t whostalkin use an apostrophe? at least on their homepage if not their URL…..

Thanks for the feedback Richard – much appreciated! And I couldn’t agree more about the apostrophe! The lack of a ‘g’ in itself kind of irritates me, though I’ll forgive them for that if it’s because they couldn’t get the url.

Thank you very much for sharing all these great tools. My colleague and I from Aarhus School of Business, Denmark, were very inspired and will start using some of them right away on our website and on our new alumni online community! I was wondering why there’s no rss subscription option on your blog? Or maybe it’s just me who can’t find it… I’d really like to stay up-to-date with your thoughts and ideas! ;-)

Thanks Jacob. You’re quite right. I set up this new site a few months ago and in truth haven’t really had time to finish it properly and put the RSS link on the blog page itself. You can, however, get to it by clicking on the RSS symbol on the homepage, which takes you to the feed: http://www.picklejarcommunications.com/feed/ – hope that’s helpful! It’s ironic that I spend so much time working to help others to improve their own use of social media to improve their mar-comms, that sometimes my own marketing suffers as a consequence :-)
