CEAC14 – Pickle Jar Presents…
As well as attending the CASE Europe Annual Conference, we will also be presenting and chairing some of the sessions so make sure you check the schedule and pop along to see us!
Using Humour in Higher Education
Do you think the education sector needs an injection of humour? Are we all too serious? Make sure you pop along to Tracy’s session at 9am on Thursday 28th August to see some examples of humour in higher education.
Tracy will be looking at examples of universities who have delivered successful (and not so successful) campaigns with an injection of humour. And what if someone else is making a joke of the university? We won’t just be thinking about how to be “funny” but also thinking about what we can learn from comedy and humour as an engagement technique to apply to our communications more broadly.
Digital Degrees: What Will the Growth of MOOCs Mean for Advancement?
Tracy will also be taking part in a panel session on the role of MOOCs with Jeff Haywood from the University of Edinburgh and Ken Punter from the University of Warwick. If you want to know what all the fuss is about, come along at 10:45am on Wednesday 27th August.
Staying Social in a Crisis: Harnessing Digital Platforms to Aid Emergency Communications
We’ve all been there – power cut on campus, student protest, snow closures… But do you know how to manage your social media communications in a crisis? Ellie will be chairing a session presented by Ben Goodwin of the University of Birmingham on “Staying Social in a Crisis: Harnessing Digital Platforms to Aid Emergency Communications”. See you there on Wednesday 27th August at 2pm for some role play and scenario planning!
And if you can’t make it along to any of those sessions and want to chat with us about our work, drop us a tweet or an email and arrange a meet-up with one (or all) of us. Attending the conference from Pickle Jar Communications will be:
