Since we started our company in September
2007 we have worked for a number of clients on various communications
projects. We specialise in working with education, research and
public sector organisations, but we're still happy to hear
from other kinds of organisations or individuals if you think our expertise
is right for you. Our clients and projects to date include:

University of Warwick
- Ideas for Life TV In September 2007 the
University of Warwick asked Pickle Jar Communications to help them
with the development of content for a new science broadband channel
for the West Midlands -
www.ideasforlife.tv. Working with the project managers - the University of
Warwick and Maverick Television - Pickle Jar Communications
developed a 10-part challenge series for the channel, Fast
Forward . We developed
the challenge, brought together all the necessary partners and support
for the challenge to run effectively, and oversaw the
production process working with Ember Regis to deliver each episode. Outside
of this series we also executive produced 5 further videos
for the site, oversaw production of the showreel, and contributed
to editorial decisions. Click here to see what they said

'Working with broadcast
media' training session The Centre for Student Development
and Enterprise (CSDE) at the University of Warwick asked us to
deliver a session for PhD students on working with broadcast media.
The session was designed, developed and delivered jointly with Peter Dunn, the University's
Press Manager. The session was specifically aimed at encouraging PhD
students to think about how best to communicate their research
through the media. Our contribution to the session included discussions
about the different types of broadcast media, opportunities for
promoting research and how to go about
it.

Warwick Manufacturing Group -
PARD In December 2007 we were asked
by the Premium Automotive Research and Development (PARD) Group at
WMG to help them produce a package of information to communicate the
outputs of their programme. We worked to co-ordinate a team of
Mustard Design, @Warblefly Productions, photographers, voice artists
and other professionals to produce a complete DVD package to be
distributed to 2000 SMEs. The DVD and associated packaging
celebrated the achievements of the PARD programe, but also aimed to
educate the audience about technologies and expertise available for
them to access and benefit from.

Jobs.ac.uk - support for Employer
Videos In her role as Head of
Research-TV, Tracy Playle had worked collaboratively with the team
at jobs.ac.uk to develop the 'Employer Videos' product. When moving
on from Research-TV, jobs.ac.uk asked Tracy to project manage the
employer video for the University of Lincoln, ensuring consistency
of the project management team for the client. Tracy worked closely
with the production team to oversee filming, editing and final
delivery of this video helping to promote the University of Lincoln
as an employer of choice for new academic and administrative staff.

The University of Nottingham - Communicating
with Council Pickle Jar Communications was
recommended to the University of Nottingham to help them come up
with a solution for effectively communicating with new lay members
of University Council, one of the main governing bodies of the
University. They needed a product that would engage these members
with the University community and convey a strong sense of its
excellence in research and teaching on a global scale. Originally
thinking that they needed a PowerPoint presentation, we instead
suggested that we access the archive of video footage available of
the University and its research and produce a short video to convey
their key messages in a highly visual way. We produced the script
for this video and worked with an editor to produce the final
video. Click here to see what they said

Working with broadcast media training
session The work of Pickle
Jar Communications was known to the University of Bath so we were
invited by their academic staff development team to run a training
session for academic staff on working with broadcast media. Our
session included discussion and thoughts on why academics should (or
shouldn't) work with broadcast media, the opportunities available to
them, what we mean by broadcast media, how to go about it, how to
prepare for a broadcast interview, and what to wear. Because of our
expertise in Higher Education and communicating research we were
able to tailor this session specifically to the academic audience.
