Many people choose to work with us for our straight-talking, no-nonsense approach to marketing and communications. Here are some of the reasons why our approach is different:
1We don’t know it all
We know what we know and we know what we don’t know. We work with you to find out the rest. This means spending time really getting to know and understand your organisation, the goals that you are trying to achieve, and the challenges and barriers that you face. Every client is different so we never make assumptions, and we treat every project as unique whether it is a half-day training workshop or a full-scale strategy and implementation project.
2We put the ‘why’ before the ‘how’
We do not believe in developing strategies and solutions for using tools and technologies. We certainly don’t believe in technology for technology’s sake. So, we always start with what you are trying to achieve and then we develop plans and ideas that will work to achieve that, hand-picking the best tools and technologies to then deliver whatever it is that you need to achieve. This also means being prepared to say that social media isn’t the answer, even if our knowledge of social and digital media is the reason that you’ve chosen to work with us.
3We put the audience first
Traditionally, marketing and communications approaches start with the organisation and the message and push out to the audience. In a world where people can chose to watch a video of a skateboarding dog instead of listening to your marketing messages, we believe that the starting point needs to be with the audience. We work hard to understand their wants and needs so that your marketing and communications approaches resonate with them and help to develop mutually useful, long-term relationships with them.
4We get to know your culture
No matter how creative and brilliant your marketing and communications ideas might be, a mis-match with organisational culture can often be the downfall of the greatest campaigns. We work with you to understand your organisation’s culture so that we can develop plans and approaches that are realistic and achievable within your environment. Sometimes we may push the boundaries of your cultural comfort zone, but we will always do so in a way that we think is realistic, manageable and sustainable.
5We help you get buy-in
You know that a particular approach to your marketing and communications is a winner, but your managers or your co-workers might not quite share your enthusiasm and confidence. We know that this is often a barrier, and so we work with you to help you address this. We listen rather than trying to persuade (they will probably make some very valid points). We understand concerns and barriers. Then we help you to address them, or we deliver inspiring talks, presentations and workshops that ignite that spark of enthusiasm within them.
6We work in partnership with you
You know your organisation better than anybody else, so it makes no sense for us to take a brief and then lock ourselves in a dark room until a report is written. Instead, we will work in partnership with you along the way, acting as an extension of your team or a critical friend. We like to share, and so we like to share our journey with you as we find out important things to help with your marketing and communications, develop new approaches, find new tools and solutions, and learn new tricks and methods of making them work.
7We are transparent
We have a clear and transparent approach to working with you. We have no agenda other than to deliver the best possible outcome for your organisation, on time and on budget. This means that we are transparent in our approach to pricing and sharing our progress on your project. We work hard at the brief and proposal stage with you to ensure that what we say our costs will be is what they will actually end up being. We don’t charge for hidden office extras or overheads, we just have a very clear and straightforward pricing structure so you know exactly what you are paying for.
8We’re good people and we’re fun to work with
We don’t believe that what we do is a job. We love our work and approach it with enthusiasm and fun. We work with sectors and organisations that we believe in, and that makes going to work every day a pleasure. We aim to make sure that you enjoy working with us, that we all learn from each other, and come away from catch-ups and workshops with a smile on all of our faces. We treat people with the utmost respect and we inject optimism and energy into the lives of those with whom we have the pleasure to work.
