THE IMPACT OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC ON STUDENTS PREPARING FOR UNIVERSITY IN 2020


The coronavirus pandemic has hit society hard, and some of those whose lives have been the most affected are at a crucial turning point in their lives - students preparing for university.

At Pickle Jar Communications, we spend a lot of time talking to students and prospective students about their motivations, experiences, and how they make life-changing decisions. We wanted to bring this in-depth, qualitative approach to the current situation - so that’s what we’ve done. We wanted to share the stories of these students, to let people know about what these unprecedented times have done to their motivations, their plans for university, and what they are hoping to achieve in the future.

Alongside that, we wanted to provide those working in higher education communication or marketing with an insight into student mindsets at this time, and to suggest some ways to address students’ concerns.

We hope this report achieves that, and we’ve got more resources to share in the near future that we hope will offer further support to those that need it.
