Chagos Conservation Trust: Getting Your Message Across

In the midst of the Indian Ocean, there’s a haven of reefs and wildlife called the Chagos Archipelago. It’s seen as a beautiful tropical environment, but – like many habitats around the world – it’s threatened by pollution, damage and over-harvesting.

The Chagos Conservation Trust is a UK charity devoted to protecting this area, and even restoring it to something resembling its former state. Work is ongoing to re-establish safe nesting grounds for vulnerable species including the coconut crab, and removing invasive species. Researchers use the archipelago as a “living laboratory” to discover insights as to how to restore similar ecosystems elsewhere.

The CCT approached Pickle Jar Communications as part of a major overhaul of its website, which involved creating a cleaner, leaner and more attractive source of information for researchers and backers. Pickle Jar stepped in to add compelling copy, which laid out the vision and mission of the Trust and stressed the importance of supporting the cause.

Working in close collaboration with the Trust, Pickle Jar’s content creation team developed engaging and clear copy with a clear focus. We also suggested ways to arrange the Trust’s most important messages in a style that caught the eye, and made the most sense to the reader.

The Trust launched the site in late-March. To learn more about the work of the Chagos Conservation Trust, go to
