The ultimate aim of everything that we do at Pickle Jar Communications is to enable you to be able to improve your marketing and communications. This means helping you and your colleagues to also develop new skills and know-how. We offer a range of training, workshops and mentoring support to help you develop.
Open workshops
Our year-round programme of open workshops are designed for individuals to attend. They are a great way to break away from the office, learn new skills, develop creative ideas and network with other professionals. See our calendar of forthcoming workshops and book your place here.
In-house workshops and away days
We regularly run in-house workshops and facilitate creative brainstorming sessions. Every workshop is designed bespoke to your needs, but frequently requested workshops include:
- Social media strategy for marketing and communications professionals.
- Content strategy and creative brainstorming.
- Social media measurement and evaluation.
- Developing compelling presentations (learning to use Prezi).
- Communications and social media academic staff.
- Social media for HR, recruitment or internal communications.
Training courses and programmes
We can develop more formal training programmes as required. Pickle Jar Director Tracy Playle also leads PR Academy’s Digital Communications Certificate which is delivered mostly online and typically runs twice per year. Find out more on the PR Academy website here.
Conference speaking and presentations
We’re well known as leaders in the field of emerging trends in education marketing and communications. We are regularly asked to speak at conferences to share our insights. Our Director – Tracy Playle – has spoken at conferences in the UK, mainland Europe, Asia, Australia and North America, and regularly receives top-scoring evaluation from delegates on her high-energy sessions, and the rest of the Pickle Jar team are now regularly spotted on conference programmes too.
Mentoring
When a more personalised approach is needed, we can develop a bespoke mentoring programme for individual members of staff. This may include some training elements, but also developing a personalised programme and recommendations for your professional development in digital communications and on-call support.
Digital literacy for students
We believe that schools, colleges and universities have a role to play and a responsibility to ensure that your students have good levels of digital literacy. We can develop training programmes delivered online or in person, or guidelines, for your students to help them improve their own use of digital and social media and enhance their online reputation.
HE Comms
HE Comms is a free-to-join social network for marketing and communications professionals developed by us. We host and maintain the community, and regularly provide HE Comms members with discounts to attend our events.
