10 minute training: using Airtable to create a dynamic content and editorial calendar

What tool does your school, college or university use as a content calendar? And how do you approach it?

  • Do you have one big one for all channels?

  • Do you have channel specific calendars?

  • Do you have objective specific calendars (for example, for recruitment content)?

  • Or do you have a jumble of all kinds of systems and constantly spend your time wishing it were different?

I’m often asked what I think is the best approach to creating shared content calendars. I recognise that there are many off the shelf tools that can be used for it, but I’ve never really seen one that quite cut the mustard for me. And so I prefer a custom approach.

The tool that I love the most for creating really powerful and flexible content calendars is Airtable. The ability to create dynamic tags, to create different views and to use filters makes this such a powerful tool. In this 10 minute training video I introduce Airtable as a content and editorial calendar, and show some of the functionality that it has that you might find helpful. (Please note: we have no formal relationship to Airtable and get no benefit from recommending their product, nor can we take any responsibility for it. We simply love their tool.)
