Ways to showcase your campus on TikTok

Your campus: it’s probably one of your institution’s biggest draws for new students. And what’s the fastest-growing social media platform? It is, of course, the clock app we all know and love.

So showing off your campus is probably a big part of your TikTok content strategy.

Here at PJC HQ, we’re all about creating content that surprises, delights and inspires your audiences. And we’ve got you covered if you’re looking for some ideas for highlighting your best angles.

Strike a pose

We live in the age of the camera—so set up your followers for selfie success. Highlight the best spots on campus for selfies on campus.

If you’ve got a mascot, this is also an opportunity to centre them. After introducing each place, snap a photo of them to show the kinds of art your followers could create.

Lift the curtain

Introduce some of the best-kept secrets on your campus. It could be a hidden garden, a statue or even a museum.

Better yet, take your audience behind the scenes to some of the places on campus they’ve never had a chance to see. What about the view from the top of your clock tower? Into the service tunnels underneath your campus? Or the backstage area of your great hall?

Comment marks the spot

Part of the appeal of TikTok over other social media platforms is its engaged community. So create interactive content that they can feel part of.

Start off with the entrance to one of your campuses and ask your audience where they want to head next. Reply to each comment with a video of the location they’re asking about.

Creating a paw-sitive experience

Do you have a beloved campus animal? Or a cute critter in your social media team? Then try a campus tour from their point of view.

It’ll show a different side to your brand, as well as creating some feel-good content that’ll play across multiple audiences. You could even have a call-to-action asking your community on campus to share photos of their furry friends on campus.

Building for success

We’ve already gone through some ways you could promote your campus but, as we all know, every post is an opportunity to reach new people. So use it.

You don’t need to specifically have your campus as the focus—it could just be one building.

Use that green screen filter to add your face to one of your buildings. It’s a signature move for brands on the platform (and you might know how well some organisations like Ryanair use it). Take an opportunity to show a bit of personality, hop on a trend, have a joke… all while your campus is shining in the background.
