Going Global: quality conference coverage

The view from space of Earth at night, clusters of lights connecting parts of the world.

Conferences can be inspiring and illuminating. But learning everything you can at an event can often feel like catching butterflies.

For the last three years, Pickle Jar Communications has worked with Media FHE to provide social and content coverage for Going Global, the British Council’s conference for international education leaders. We have attended conferences in both London and Cape Town.

Going Global is a popular event for higher education media, as well as representatives from institutions around the world. To supply the most detailed coverage of the event, Media FHE draws on its print journalism experience to create detailed conference briefings overnight. Meanwhile, Pickle Jar provides support for the social media aspect. Our on-the-spot reporter provides live updates on social media, creates shareable images with highlight quotes in real time, and works with the British Council’s comms team to keep its followers up to date with multiple tracks of the conference.

In 2015, the #GoingGlobal2015 hashtag attracted 34 million Twitter impressions, compared to 302,000 in 2014.
